Deb and Bill Larratt, Greg and Tammy Garson, Gord and Elaine Bredo, and Wendy Davidson and Murray Fleming left Penhold at 7:30 Friday, September 15th to travel to the 2017 Radium car show. Despite driving through rain and snow from Canmore to Banff on Friday morning, the weekend car show turned out to be a beautiful warm weekend with bright sunshine and blue skies. Judy and Larry Kemshead drove out a day earlier in order to enjoy some golfing with the car show.
Members of the Sylvan Lake Customs and Classics car club joined other car enthusiasts sitting on the main drag in Radium on Friday night and watched the never ending parade of hot rods cruising up and down the streets.
The ladies from the car club couldn’t resist posing with the local fireman’s mascot.
The car show on Saturday drew over 7,000 spectators to see the wide variety of cars and trucks. Everyone enjoyed the warm sunshine and the variety of cars.
Bill Larratt won a backpack for a door prize, while Greg and Tammy won tools.
The following pictures show a few of the unique hot rods at the show:
Club members did not bring back any awards, but everyone enjoyed the beautiful day and the hot rods. In addition, Bill worked hard at training his new dragonfly pet — which was determined to sit squarely in the middle of his shirt!
