Plaques were awarded for the top 10 vehicles in the show, as voted on by car show participants. Four of these awards went to members of the Sylvan Lake Customs and Classics car club — Murray Fleming, Zeke Hume, Gordie Laurent, and David Popovitch. The “Best of Show” award was won by Gord Bredo and he will be receiving a beautiful etched picture of his truck on a granite plaque.
The award for the most unusual vehicle was given to the vehicle in the picture to the left.
The car show began with a pancake breakfast that was enjoyed by over 450 people. The huge serving included two pancakes, two eggs, two sausages, ham, and lots of strawberries, whip cream and syrup. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it — and certainly, nobody left hungry.
Despite the cool weather, the car show attracted a total of 88 cars.
After the Gull Lake Show and Shine, several club members cruised to Olds to briefly attend an informal car show and enjoy a midday lunch / supper.
